Cannot log in to server6/13/2009 5:06:02 PM

I had to replace the network card with a new pci card. It is a link sys
card and auto loaded using IRQ 11 and base address ec30. When I try to
login the client can't find the tree. On the monitor screen all the
information such as tree name and server name is correct. Any
suggestions.

This problem started when the client machine kept say that a network
cable was disconnected. When I disconnected the server cable from the
router the error message disappeared.

Thanks

What network card? Server or workstation?

Novell has a new enhancement request system,
or what is now known as the requirement portal.
If customers would like to give input in the upcoming
releases of Novell products then they should go to
http://www.novell.com/rms

In checking the message log file I notice a line, server -5.00 unable
to load file 3c900.lan
However in NWCONFIG the file shown as 3c90x.lan. I always thought that
novell would recognize the x as 0

UPDATE 21:20 DSTime

I took the 3c900 card out and got another new card, then cleared the
nwconfig file of all drivers and loaded the new card drivers and I now
have access to the file server. BTW Where are the AALAND Islands????
And how do you get Internet coverage??????

Thanks

Carol

OK. Then it was a driver/load issue. Glad you got it sorted whilst I was
asleep ;)

> BTW Where are the AALAND Islands????

In the Baltic, between Sweden and Finland

Same as everyone else I guess ;) Through an ISP that has fiber
connections to both Sweden and Finland for redundancy.

Novell the company might, but NetWare the OS does not. An x is an x.
