Passing Values in URL

I know how create Hyperlinks in a datagrid that can pull a column_ID and pass it through the URL however I would like to be able to create a stand alone hyperlink that can pull a value from lets say a prepopulated read only/hidden TEXT BOX and pass it though the URL(example: index.aspx?textbox1=6). Im basically just look for some tutorials if anybody has any info.

You textboxes are accessible from the code-behind after the first postback using the good ole fashioned Request.Form. Of course you wouldn't use this for textboxes that you've dropped onto your form, but for a hidden one that you manually placed there you can. Say you called it "MyHiddenTextbox" you could just access Request.Form("MyHiddenTextbox"). You can then use that value to define the NavigateUrl property of your hyperlink.

uh, unless I'm missing something, this is as simple as:

HyperLink1.NavigateUrl = "topics.aspx?category_id=" + TextBox1.Text ;

What's the catch?
