Accessing User control from a page

I have a user control on which i have to lists. This control is used on a page. I want when this page is loaded , one list is filled from data base. Query to the databse depends on value of some query string variable. So want to pass some value from page to User control. Or there is another way so that i can directly access the list of a user control from the page.

I am new to .Net
Can anybody help me in this way

One thing you can do is to set an externally exposed property on the user control by adding this:



<script runat="server">


    public Unit Width {


        get {


            return Image1.Width;


        }


        set {


            Image1.Width = value;


        }


    }


</script>

This particular snippet exposes the Width property of an Image control inside. Next, on the page that is using the control, you can just set the Width property on the user control:



<uc1:frame id="YourControl1" runat="server" Width='<%= Request.QueryString["Width"] %>' />
