How to config the environment for a webpart?3/10/2006 9:45:47 PM

0/0

Hi all, I am going to convert a part(like a search people text box and a search submit button) of a sharepoint site to a webpart, but I am new to webpart. Is there anyone can give me a direction on some details about changing a normal part to a webpart? How should I create a webpart on this site? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Web parts in asp.net 2.0 are very different than web parts in Sharepoint 2003. Start with this article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/05/09/WebParts/default.aspx. Download the source and work through it if you can. Web parts in the next very of Sharepoint are build on top of the current Web Part framework and will be pretty much the same. Good luck.
