"Add Web Page" functionality1/26/2005 6:39:06 PM

We are looking to implement "Add Web Page" functionality similar to that at my.msn.com -- i.e., a user can add and name a new Page (obviously based on our pre-defined template) and add WebParts to that Page.

Presumably we would maintain a User's collection of "Custom Pages" in the Personalization db ... read the collection out when the User is authenticated and add those links to a menu.

The big question ... will the User added WebParts and any customizations the User has made be persisted as they are with "normal" pages (ie, those built through the IDE) or do I somehow have to "register" the page as part of the Application ... ?

Thanks!

You only need to have the page as a physical file somewhere in the application folder. The WebPartManager on the page will do the rest.

Hmm - this is very interesting.  So does this mean that when the user clicks "Add New Page" we can programmatically create a blank aspx page (or a templated page even) using the FSO or something and then the WebManager is able to use that to add Webparts To?
