Searching for file in a folder c#, Please help

Hello All,

I have a folder named companylogo on my localhost. In my datagrid there is a template column <span><span>, I need to search the folder for the filename which is based on company id (Example 4.jpg) if found display the image else display text "image not found".

My question is how do i search for a specific file, can anyone point me in right direction please. All your suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi There,

You can use System.IO.Directory.GetFiles():

Example:

string[] result1 = System.IO.Directory.GetFiles(Server.MapPath("companylogo"), "yourfilename.jpg"); // get file with name yourfilename.jpg

string[] result2 = System.IO.Directory.GetFiles(Server.MapPath("companylogo"), "*.jpg"); // get all file with extension jpeg

Try with this code:

using System.IO;

FileInfo filInfo = new FileInfo(MapPath("~/companylogo/" + yourImageName));
  if (filInfo.Exists)
  {
   Image1.Visible = true;
   Image1.ImageUrl = ("~/companylogo/" + yourImageName);
  }
  else
  {
   Image1.Visible = false;
   Response.Write("image not found");
  }
