Increment on Page load

I need to increment a session variable on Page.Load and not on a handeled event

Is there a way i can detect which web control button on my form has been clicked on the Page.Load event??

No it is not as simple as that. The session variable has to be incremented before page.load has finished and only if a button is pressed.

So i need to detect which button has been clicked on and i can't use an event handler as they are only fired after the page.load method is completed.

I think i'll have to do some javascript.
