Hello!

I'm currently developing an asp.net application (locally) which I want my colleagues (on the network) to test and provide me with their remarks.
My pc runs with windows xp, so I published the web application on a local folder, then set the access rights to my colleagues (using Web Sharing folder option), but still, they get an error message (page cannot be displayed).

I'm probably doing something wrong, but I'd like to know how I can make this application available to them while I continue on working on localhost

Publishing it will just move the files needed to a dfirectory for your webserver to serve up.  You will need IIS as a webserver to server up the web pages to your colleagues.

You say you are running Windows XP. Home or Professional?  Home does not come with IIS.  Professional does but I don't think it is installed by default.

Well assuming you go get IIS installed, you will need to go into IIS and find your published directory then select properties for the folder (in IIS) and then click the 'create' button to create an application directory within IIS.  Once that is done, just make sure IIS is running and that you have the application directory set to use the correct version of .NET (if you just have one version installed it will default correctly).

Then you will need to give you colleagues the address to your website, not the local folder address.

eg:  http://your_computer_name/yourapp/default.aspx

Thanks Kelsey, but I figured out what was the problem. Actually, by re-registering asp .net, it worked like a charm (aspnet_regiis.exe /i). Even though I did it before I started developing the application...
