Hello,
I've been using these instructions http://webproject.scottgu.com/CSharp/Migration/Migration.aspx to convert an existing 2003 project to 2005.  The project successfully converts and runs, at which point, I check the code into ClearCase (Through the ClearCase IDE).  When I try and test the conversion by reloading the code, Visual Studio appears not to recognize the Web Application Project and the web site is loaded as a Web Project (which causes all sorts of issues).  Can someone lend some insight into this issue?  I've done diffs on the project and solution files, pre and post check-in and they are identical...It seems rather baffling....

I had a similar problem converting from 2003 to 2004.  The source control provider that I am using is Visual SourceSafe.  After I checked everything into source control and tried to open the project, I was prompted to do the conversion again.  No matter what I did, the message would not stop.

Finally I found a post on these forums that pointed me in the right direction.  Basically the .csproj.vspscc was missing the "ORIGINAL_PROJECT_FILE_PATH" path.  Once I changed those, the solution would load.

I am not familiar with how ClearCase deals with project files.  So I hope that my experience will help you out.

Thanks for the reply and the insight.  ClearCase uses the vspscc files as well and they appear to look identical to the ones posted your link.  What seems to be happening is when I convert the project the vspscc file is deleted, and I can't figure out how to get it back.  The project is still active in Source control though...I attempted to manually create the vspscc from the old version, but had no luck (kind of a reach there).  Anyway I will continue to pursue messing with the vspscc file since it seems logical that it is the problem...
