Can not create a solution with VS 2005 web application project9/8/2006 10:08:15 PM

After installing Web Application Project capability per http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/reference/infrastructure/wap/default.aspx, I followed Scott Gu's tutorial http://webproject.scottgu.com/CSharp/HelloWorld/Helloworld.aspx, I created an ASP.Net web application but whereas Mr. Gu has a solution that contains a web application project, I have as a root the web application project. I'd like to add other projects like a DAL to this one but cannot.

How can  I have a soution as a root an a web  application project as an element?

It's probably the environment option:

Tools->Options->Projects and Solutions->Always Show Solution.  Check it.  I don't like it sometimes not showing either.

Now, I helped someone, anyone want to pay me back?

When I install this thing the installer says it finished and it's installed, but if I go under new projects and select c# (or anything else for that matter) there is no "ASP.NET Web Application" option.

Did I do something wrong?

I think I finally found my own answer in the forum history...

timmcb wrote the following post at 05-11-2006 9:42 AM:

To install Web Applications Projects you must run two installers.  One for a VS update and a second to install Web Application Projects itself.  Did you run both installers?

I ran the first one and all it did is pop up a web page for the second one... I thought that was all it did and I didn't need to run it again.  I went back and ran it again and that solved the issue.
