VWD 2008 compatibility with VWD 2005?11/20/2007 10:11:15 PM

 I would like to install VWD 2008 but can't locate pre requisites or writeup of side by side use with VWD 2005. Will 2007 preclude my use of VWD 2005 (in case any problems come up)?

Do I need to install .NET 3.5 to use VWD 2008? Can I leave .NET 2.0 installed for compatibility testing with remote servers running .NET 2.0? I'm still targeting .NET 2.0 till hosting providers catch up.

They can be both installed on the same machine. On the other hand, VWD 2008 can target 2.0 framework so you may not need VWD 2005.

You must install 3.5 for VWD to work. You don't have to target it, but VWD itself is built using 3.5. BTW, 3.5 is an extension to 2.0. CLR and base framework is still 2.0
