Problem with Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition11/29/2007 6:47:36 PM

Hi!

When I try the following in Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition nothing happens:

. New Web Site (Shift+Alt+N)

. Open Web Site (Shiw+Alt+O)


No window opens! There is no error message! Just nothing happens!

The strange thing is that it worked before. I have tried to reinstall but the problem is still there.

I'm using Windows Vista Business. Anyone knows anything about this, or have anyone had the same problem?

Thx for reading so far and any help appreciated! =)

Would you please try the following:

  1. Go to menu Tools->Options
  2. Check "Show All Settings" check box at the bottom left of the dialog
  3. Go to Environment->Keyboard section of the settings
  4. Click inside of the "Press shortcut keys" text box
  5. Press Alt+Shift+O

After you do that, you should see in "Shortcut currented used by" - "File.OpenWebSite" command. If this is not what you are seeing, then somehow the command/shortcut binding got lost. I am not sure how that happened, but it can be easily fixed. You need to select File.OpenWebSite from the list of commands on that options page, and then assign it Alt+Shift+O shortcut. The same thing for the File.NewWebSite.

Hey Alex!

Thanks for your answer! I should have been more accurate with describing the problem in Visual Studio.

It's not about the shortcuts. Even if I try to open a website, or create a new one, by clicking File > Creat Web Site or File > Open Web Site the problem still remains - nothing happens.
