Hello,

After uninstalling VWD 2005, Asp.net 2.0 and Ajax Framework 1.0, I receive this error when installing VWD 2008.

?Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition - ENU has encountered a problem during setup. Setup did not complete correctly.?

I downloaded it from the new release http://www.microsoft.com/express/vwd/ , the installation of Framework 3.5 stop the setup. Sad

You did not need to uninstall "Asp.net 2.0 and Ajax Framework 1.0," as they are part of Framework 3.0.

Was there any other error message? For example look in the Application event log.

This is the content of the event log. Is this what you mean?

The Type is WARNING and source is .NET RUNTIME. Sad

That message is part of the upgrade process but does not account for your installation problem.

Hi Tatworth,

I just reboot my pc and start installing again which I have a successful setup completion. I do not know how I receive such error, maybe I open an instance of VWD2005 and some application while installing. I am now exploring the power of Visual Web Developer 2008. Big Smile
