Where is the Assembly file and how to deploy it?11/21/2007 1:10:52 PM

Hi,

I am experiencing VWD Express 2005 for a while.
But I can't find the assembly which is generated by IDE.
Because, when I deploy the application I don't want to deploy the source (*.cs or *.vb) codes

Is there any way of deploying just dll not the source code?

VWD Express does not compile sites into assemblies, it expects you to deploy site in source form. No one will be able to get code files from the Web, only someone who has physical access to the server can see sources. If you still want to precompile everything, you can use aspnet_compiler from command line. Or you can upgrade to Visual Studio and use Web Application project.

OOH, You've mentioned about Web  Application project in VS I couldn't figure out where it is?

Did you install Service Pack 1? WAP is only available in VS, it is not available in VWD Express.

Service Pack should appear in Microsoft Update if have it active on the computer. The link is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=BB4A75AB-E2D4-4C96-B39D-37BAF6B5B1DC&displaylang=en it applies to all versions except Express.
