I want to copy my VWD website from my laptop to my webserver.  I have IIS enabled on my webserver, and can copy a simple website from VWD there using local files to my website and it works fine.  However, my laptop can't connect to the webserver using the ip address of the webserver.  In the connect to box, I type http://192.168.168.201:81  (81 being the special port I am using.
This address works when I browse the website.

My laptop user is set up as a user on the webserver.  It gives an error message saying I am not authorized to perform the current operation.  In fact, while on the webserver, when I right click on the website using IIS, and click browse.  It asks for the password to my username.  I know I am typing in the correct password, but I still can't browse it.

I want to set this up correctly so that only authorized users can change the website so any help would be appreciated.

Do you want any user to access the website (this is the way most websites work on the internet)?  Then you need to configure your website with "Anonymous Authentication".  In Inetmgr, right-click on the virtual directory, and select properties.  Click on the "Directory Security" tab, and click "Edit.." button under "Authentication and access control", and make sure "Enable Anonymous Access" is checked.

If you want only specific windows users to access the page (this might be the case for an intranet site) you want "Windows Authentication" to be enabled, and make sure those users have access to the directory where the website lives.
