Can anybody help me solve the following problem while installing Visual Web Developer Express Edition?

definitely the first time i've seen such an error. wad other applications were u running when you were installing VWD? Have you tried restarting your computer and just executing the installer without executing other apps?

To answer your questions:

1. No other application was running while I was installing VWD; and
2. Several times, I tried to restart my computer and install VWD afresh; however, same thing happened.

FYI, after the debugger displayed the message, the Setup stoped installing VWD.

Why did then the installer terminate installing VWD had it not been an error?  Please look at the last line of the message: "*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found.  Defaulted to export symbols for C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll - ntdll!KiFastSystemCallRet:77ccfc24 c3 ret".

1. Since I assign WinDbg to be a default debugging tool for Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debeugger (VSJITD), any error encountered by the Installer would be forwarded to the tool (WinDbg). In other words, I did nothing; but, when the Installer found the error, it terminated its porcess and the default debugger automatcally displayed the error message indicated earlier.
2. Note that if I did not assign the default debugging tool, VSJITD would have displayed the following error message that terminates the setup:
   "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in setup.exe [1452]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-In-Time debugging enabled. In Visual Studio, Just-In-Time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time. Check the documentation index for "Just-in-time debugging, error' for more information."
3. I have an Antivirus; however I disabled it while installing; and
4. I don't see any spyware monitor running in my computer.
