Post Installation Issues

I've installed Visual Web Developer 2005. It didn't generate any error messages.

However, it also didn't give me a link to start the program. Where is the .exe file for this program located?

I thought it would be in
E:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7

but it isn't.

I really need some help here, I don't understand why the installation program wouldn't provide me a link to start the program. No desktop shortcut, no start menu entry -- nothing.

On my system the executable is located as follows:

D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\VWDExpress.exe

Somewhat -- it lets me know that there's even MORE wrong with my installation ;) I don't even HAVE an IDE directory :) Why doesn't the installation create one for me when I hit repair/reinstall?

Did you install VWD when ASP.NET 2.0 was in its first Beta phase? If so, try first uninstalling everything related to the first Beta. If a manual uninstall does not sufficiently clean out your system ready for the new version of VWD, you can run Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 Beta Cleanup Utility. This utility does not have its own webpage that you can view, it is available only as a download link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=47065

VWD installed fine for me, so I don't think I will be of much help to you. It was Visual Studio 2005 that I found very difficult to install (until the Beta Cleanup Utility came to my rescue).

No, I did not install VWD when it was in its first Beta phase. Now it won't uninstall or repair itself. Ideas?
