i didnt fine the access database

hi guys,

i've installed the VWD but when i tried to connect a access dababase to the page i didnt find the access database in the data category Indifferent [:|] Crying [:'(]

so do any of u have the same situation ?!

and r there any plugin or something to fix this? or what should i do Tongue Tied [:S]

If you view Database Explorer window, right-click on Data Connections, and choose Add Connection, you should see a dialog that contains 'Microsoft Access Database File' as a list of possible data sources.

believe it or not the database explorer didnt want to open i went to view>show database explorer and it didnt open also when press Ctrl+Alt+S it didnt open, i dont know i guess there is a bug or something, by the way the 1st time i've install the VWD i found in data category the AccessDataSource, did microsoft remove it in beta 2 ?!

by the way there is a err msg but i really cant remember it told me that i going to disable something and if i want to enable it again i should do something Confused [8-)]

i really dont remember Tongue Tied [:S]

I'm not a data expert, but I still see "AccessDataSource" control in my Toolbox in the Data area, both on the full VS 2005 Beta 2, and in the VWD Express Beta 2 build. I also installed SQL Express on those machines. Did you install SQL Express? You could try to launch from a command prompt with the "resetskippkgs" flag (vwdexpress.exe /resetskippkgs) which might try to register a package that previously failed on launch.

i guess there is something wrong with my OS Indifferent [:|]

by the way the sql express while i'm insalling it it gives me an err Tongue Tied [:S]

so i dont have it right now.

Do you see any other datasource controls (such as SQLDatasource) under Data toolbox category? What OS are you running? What error are you seeing whe you installed SQL Express?

finally i fix it Smile [:)]

right click on the data category then Choose Items then i found that AccessDataBase not cheked so i mark it then ok, and every thing now is fine Smile [:)]

i'm using win2003 web edition beta ver i guess, i really dont remeber the err,

but there is another err when i try to open the Data Base explorer u gonna find it there:

That error is a "package load failure" which indicates a failed Setup. No wonder you are having so many troubles!

If I were you I would remove and reinstall the product. Make sure you temporarily turn off all virus detection software, and any other programs that scan files (anti-advertisement program scanners, pop-up blockers, etc). These programs can interfere with Setup and prevent our product from registering components properly. Make sure you install the program from an account that has Administrator rights on the machine.
