VS2008 hangs intermittently on Vista3/5/2008 12:30:05 PM

Good day

I am using VS2008 on Windows Vista for developing an ASP.NET/Ajax application. Every couple of seconds, while I am editing the HTML part of a .aspx page, the IDE hangs for an average of about 15 seconds.

I have already installed the hotfix rollup (KB946581), but there was no major improvement.

Does anybody else experience this?

I've noticed a slight hang when I am in split view editing the html. Are you in split view?
We have not because we seek not!

First, try disabling any installed add-ins since there were reports of incompatibility with some add-ins. Next, try booting is safe mode and see if issue persists. You can also obtain a hang dump as described here: http://blogs.msdn.com/mikhailarkhipov/archive/2007/09/19/how-to-obtain-debug-information-from-a-hung-frozen-application.aspx and open a bug at http://connect.microsoft.com
