VS2008 - Development Server always starts3/17/2008 2:38:35 PM

 Hi,

I have a solution, migrated from VS2005, with many web applications configured with IIS and an only website, used for testing, configured with the Development Server of VS.

In my Debug configuration this website isnt selected and in VS2005 when I was playing the solution the Development Server didnt start. To start the website I have another configuration.

Now with VS2008 the Development Server always starts ! Also if the website that requires it isnt selected for the build and execution!

How I can recreate the VS2005 behavior?

Thanks, Andrea K (from Italy).

On Each webproject in your solution, right click on the root and select 'Start Options' and then find the custom server checkbox and check it, then fill in the Base URL box to a URL that points to where you deploy your app.

He was talking about Execution and Compiling configurations.

We have a solution with some different configurations. One of them doesn't include that specific web project for compilation and execution actions, but when we run the solution with that configuration, that project also starts, regardless of selected configuration.

Ah my mistake...I forgot a part...right click on the root of the web application, select properties and then on the left there should be a tab called 'Web', scroll down that page and change the radio button to Use IIS Web server and set your URL.

But I didnt ask how set the use of IIS web server on a Web application.

I want, in VS2008, that the Development Server for my little test website, in my big solution with many web applications that instead use IIS, wouldnt start if the only project that uses it isnt selected for the build when I play the solution for debug... like in VS2005.

 Thanks.
