Alright this is driving me insane. I opened a Bug on MSDN Lab Product Feedback, but it takes them a while to respond so I want to know if anyone else has come across this issue. Frankly I find this an unimportant issue, though extremely annoying and something noticable enough to catch during the beta process.
Alright I am running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. VS had a little trouble installing but no biggy I got around that. It runs beautifully EXCEPT it does not permanmently delete a file! It works fine on x86 Platforms. Here is how to reproduce this issue:
- Set the Global Recycling bin setting to "Do not move files to the Recycling bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" as true.
- Open Visual Studio.
- Create a Windows Forms project.
- Right Click the Form1.cs (or Form1.vb or whatever language you chose) and select Delete. Click Yes when you are asked for conformation.
- Look in the recycling bin.
There it is! It shouldn't be in there. It does this also when you open a web project via FTP, it puts all of the temporary cached files there instead of deleting them.
Here is my bug report:

I find it amazing this wasn't caught during beta, which is why I want a conformation. I would like to stress that it only does this on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. I have had too many people try and tell me that I am wrong only later to find out they were running an x86 platform. I do not know if it does this on Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition, but chances are very good it does since Windows XP Professional x64 Edition was based off Windows Server 2003 x64. (you can tell by the version if you run winver.exe)
Anyone else get this issue?
Cheers,
Kevin Jones
