Can anyone tell me how to re-install Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition.  I have all the express editions installed, Visual Web Developer Express, VB Epress and so on.  I uninstalled VISUAL STUDIO.  Wow, I didnt think it would be this hard but after an entire day of searching I cant find it.  The reason I unistalled it is becuse i couldnt get WebbApplicationProjectSetup.msi to run.  After reading an entire day on how do do that and it not working I decided to try and uninstall Visual Studio.  Now when I run VsSDKFebruary2007.exe it tells me "You must have Visual Studio Standard Edition or above installed on your computer before proceeding.   HEEELP.

What does VsSDKFebruary2007.exe have to do with
WebbApplicationProjectSetup.msi?


Does WebbApplicationProjectSetup.msi run now that you've reinstalled?


IIRC, the VSSDK has always required at least the standard edition.

VSSDK has always required at least the standard edition.

 

yaya~wad he said is true..it alwiz required u to install standard edition..lolx~well..juz install ..it did not take much space in harddisc only~ thanks~

Here is the end result of what I'm trying to do.  I want to use Visual Studio, and build a new web project within it.  Right now I have to use Visual Web Developer to build a website.  Since I uninstalled Visual Studio, I cant figure out how to reinstall it.  WebApplicationProjectSetup.MSI would not run before I unistalled Visual studio because I could not get it to install.  I am pretty sure I will reformat my computer unless someone comes up with a solution here.

You have provided little in the form of details for anybody to work with.

Hi RTisserand,

Based on my understanding, you have uninstalled Visual Studio Express and now you don?t know how to reinstall it. In addition, you want to install Web Application Projects but it always fails. If I have any misunderstanding, please let me know.

For the reinstall failure issue, please make sure you have removed the previous Visual Studio instance completely (all the related directories and registries should be removed). Then you can install Visual Studio again as usual.  About how to remove Visual Studio 2005, please refer to the following link:

For the issue that you cannot install WebApplicationProjectSetup.msi, I think it is by design becuase we have alrealy declared it in the Web Application Projects? download page:

Web application projects do not work with Visual Web Developer Express Edition
