VS 2005 Install Problems

Hello, I have completely rebuilt my computer and still can't get VS 2005 installed. It just freezes after the Framework 2.0 install. No errors or anything just freezes. Then I can't uninstall it using the uninstall via the Control Panel because it says there was an error initializing the installation.

It's a Dell Dimension 8300 with 1 Gig of RAM and plenty of disc space. I have looked at the hardware vendors websites, as well as Microsofts site looking for driver issues, etc but found none.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Did u try the released version? or ur trying to install the beta 2 ? Which version of windows your running?

I have the same Dell system as you (8300) with 1GB Ram, WinXP Pro SP2 and didn't have any problems. I am running VS2003, SQL 2000 along with VS2005 and SQL 2005 Dev Edition. Runs good.

I am using the release version os VS 2005. The OS is Windows XP SP2.

Have you installed the Beta Version before this? If you have...You're hosed. I made that mistake and had to format and reinstall my dev machine at work.

Real Programmers don't comment their code. If it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.

without uninstalling try to repair(reinstall) using the CD. and if you want to uninstall do it from the CD.
