I'm having a strange problem.  I downloaded WebProfileGenerator and installed it. I couldn't get it to run under visual studio when I right-clicked my web.config file.  I installed the latest SP1 and still couldn't get it to work.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled it and the problem persists.  I thought that it may be specific to the add-in, but I haven't heard anyone having problems with it so I installed SmartPaster as a test to see if the problem is generalized for all add-ins.  To my dismay, it didn't work either.  The only thing I can think of that would cause the add-ins not to load may have something to do with my AVS anti-virus.  I figured it may prevent writing to the registry, but a decent program ought to warn me about it.  I have exhausted all possibilities.  Does anyone have a clue?

I found the solution to the problem although it's quite odd and may possibly be a bug with VS 2005. VS assumes %VSMYDOCUMENTS%\Addins is located in the same volume as VS application.  My MyDocuments folder is in a separate partition with a different drive letter, which I changed in Windows. Almost all other application can find the MyDocuments on this drive. The solution was to add a path to mydocuments folder in TOOLS>Options>Add-in/Macros Security
