I am no developer but I am trying to get Visual Studio 2005 working on a Windows 2003 server running IIS6. I've got it working to a fashion. I create the project but it doesn't go and create a virtual directory I have to do that manually. Also say if I had called the project pitt30 it saves it like this \\servername\wwwroot\pitt30\pitt30\default.aspx. It will only work until I have created the virtual directory and moved the contents to the root of pitt30? But I can do exactly the same using Visual Studio 2003 on the same server and it creates is with no problems.
One thing I have notice under Visual Studio 2003 is when you save the project you can save as follows http://servername/pitt30 and when you browse you can see the virtual directories but in VS 2005 you can only see them in folder format. Also when you click browse in VS 2003 the options you have in look in area are History, My Projects, Desktops, Favorites, My Network Places but in VS2005 the only options I get when I browse are Desktop, Projects, My Computer
Any help would be greatly apprectiated
