Hi Boot2TheHead,
Just a suggestion, I would like to know if you have installed Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005. If not, please install it. In addition, if your operation system is Vista, please don?t forget to install SP1 Update for Vista. Following is the download address:
Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

If the service pack cannot fix it. I recommend you go to our Connect Project portal and report this issue:

Our engineers are actively collecting the feedbacks from customers. We are trying our best to find the workaround for the issues, and fix them in the future version of the products or service pack. Thank you for working closely to improve our products.
Just for your reference, I find these two feedbacks which related to the user control and intellisense. Though they are not exactly correspond to this issue, I post them here and hope they will be helpful to other readers.
