Unable to view the desgin mode

Hi everybody

I am unable to go navigate the desgin mode when i click on the desgin tab on below of the default.aspx even i tried with shift+F7. Still i am getting the problem. Even I am unable to edit the source code in the deault.aspx file could any body help me out.

Hi,

and welcome to the ASP.NET forums.

Is your markup properly made up? If not check the " and ' signs because once cluttered up, I believe Visual Studio even indicates it with a warning/error, you can't go to design mode. Also are you experiencing this with nested master pages as Visual Studio 2005 didn't have the possibility to show these in design mode either.

I am only working with only single form i.e defaut.aspx and i dont have any code in this page snapshot

the image's not viewable, can you post the parts of code that you have in your page (the markup part, not the code behind).

Hi,

this looks quite normal to me. Another method you can try is the following: delete the current file and add it again and see if you can get it to view in design view then.

Even i tried with this but iam unable to go desgin mode and when i am taking new web site in the solution explorer iam not getting the web.config file. Is there any problem with setup of .net or i have to set any options. earlier web.config file has came but suddenly its turned off.Please suggest.

Can you elaborate on "not being able to edit the source code"? What happens when you donble-click aspx file in Solution Explorer? Does the file open in some editor?

when i create one new web site from selecting from file--new web site

1) Iam not getting the web.config file

2) Not able to see the desgin mode when i click on the desgin tab

3) when i write the code in the default.aspx file iam unable to modify that code also.

4) when i click on the default.aspx file in solution explorer it is showing in the same same editor.

5) Is theresettings has to be fixed let me know.
