Solution Files for Website Projects in SP1??10/29/2007 9:30:13 AM

I recently needed to format and reinstall everything on my laptop. I believe my last setup was Visual Studio 2005 Professional without SP1. I just went ahead and installed Visual Studio 2005 Professional on my system and went ahead and installed SP1, while I was at it. Before my hard drive crashed, all of my website projects in VS were without a solution file. I preferred working on websites without a solution. Now, when I load an existing website that does not have a solution, VS creates a new one. When I create a new website, VS includes a solution file, too. At first, I thought that it might have been a setting that I had previously turned off. Then, I realized that SP1 is now installed, whereas I don't think I had it installed before my hard drive crashed. So, I have looked through the settings and can't seem to find a way to turn this behavior off. I am stuck with having solution files for all my websites now? Please tell me that I can turn this off.

Hi TWDO,

From your description, I understand that when you create/open a website project, visual studio dynamically adds a new solution file in Solution Explorer. How to turn off this feature for you don?t want to work with solution file? If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.

For this scenario, we can turn it off by uncheck the option: ?Always show solution? from: Tools | Options? | Projects and Solutions | General.
