Hi everyone,
This isn't the commonly heard Frontpage Extensions error that I've come across countless times while searching for my answer (the answer to which, btw, is here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936857 ).
I am able to create web sites locally on two Vista boxes (let's call them Vista1 and Vista2). I am, however, unable to create the web sites remotely (ie. in the Location combobox, I would type in http://Vista2/WebSite). That is, using Vista1 as a development machine and Vista2 as the server, or vice versa.
The error I get is this:
Unable to open the Web 'http://Vista2/WebSite'. The Web server does not appear to have the FrontPage server extensions installed.
I suspect there's a security setting somewhere that may enable remote web development, but don't know where that is. Or, maybe VS uses a different mechanism to do remote web development from local development, and that mechanism isn't supported in Vista. Either way, I'd like to hear if there are any solutions to this. Thanks!
