Page_Load1/24/2006 9:42:30 PM

We recently upgraded a project from VS 2003 to VS 2005.  I have noticed that in all the web form code behinds, the Page_Load method has been modified and now has 2 events it wants to handle.  The events are MyBase.Load and Me.Load.  This is causing the Page_Load sub to fire twice.  By removing the Me.Load handler, it runs fine for a while.  But, randomly, Me.Load gets added back.  Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Can you please post the aspx page tag and the  even handlers header?

I wonder if it has autoeventwireup = true.

<%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Inherits="<class>" CodeFile="<codefile>" %>

The page tag is the same for all pages in the website.

Before conversion:

Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

After conversion:

Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load, Me.Load

When Me.Load is taken away, the page works fine, but VS2005 is "sometimes" adding it back to the handler header when making changes and saving the code-behind file.

Perhaps changing AutoEventWireup to true for all pages and removing "Handles MyBase.Load, Me.Load" from all code-behinds?
