Looking for JFIF to Windows convert solution6/18/2007 1:42:02 PM

Hello,

 I have run into a problem trying to convert standard .jpg files to text strings.

A simple stream reader returns preforming a readalltext/readalllines/readallbytes etc. returns only the first 4 characters of the encoded .jpg file as "????"

Thats it... next should be something like " JFIF" or " ???JFIF" followed by a few thousand other characters

How can I convert a .jpg to a .txt in VB?

You can use Strings.StrConv Method to return a string converted as specified.

Hey,

Thanks, but the vbstrconv function isn't returning any more of the string it still provides me with the same 4 characters.  What conversion and localeID should I be using for a .jpg file?  Should I read in the .jpg in a different way.  I am current using readalltext funtion to creat my raw string.
