Hi,

Ive got two questions:

1. How can I display the line numbers on my files like in web developer?

2. When opening a file from the solution explorer, how can I make markup mode the default?

Thanks,

Curt.

go to : Tools -> options ->Text Editor ->all languages -> then check line numbers.

2. When opening a file from the solution explorer, how can I make markup mode the default?

Tools -> options ->HTML designer and for "the Start pages In " choose Source View.

Tools Menu -> Option -> Click on "HTML Designer" in TreeView which is Left hand side -> Select : "Start Page in : Source View" Radio Button.

Tools Menu -> Option -> Click on "Text Editor" in TreeView which is Left hand side -> Nevigate to "All Languages" -> There is a Check Box in "Display" section as  "Line Numbers". Select it...

hope it helps./.

Thanks for the replies. However when I open options there isn't a tree node called 'HTML Designer'. The 'Text Editor' node is there, but the sub-nodes are only 'Basic' and 'HTML' Tongue Tied

i think  somewhat like "display - Line Numbers - Check Box option" would be there in "Basic" or "Text Editor" nodes...

Thanks! It was:

Tools > Options > Text Editor > Basic > Editor

But I couldn't find the default markup mode though.
