File Path References

Hi - so I'm still learning VS2K5, so please pardon this potentially neophyte question: I've developed some simple code to both create and read an external XML file, and I'd like to test it locally on my machine. My line of code that calls the XML file to read from goes as follows:

CurrentMenuColor.Text = ReadXML("test.xml","menuBackground");

But whenever I try to run it on the local test server, I get this error:

Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\test.xml'.

My method to create the file works just fine, and it puts the file in the same directory as the page that tries to call it (what will be my web root). Generally, when I refer to another file in another folder (say, an image or something), I path it like I would on the web, so I assume that "test.xml" would be in the same directory as my .aspx page (which it physically is). However, VS keeps trying to look for it in the path described above. I've tried directly referencing the file (C:\...\test.xml), but then I get debugging errors warning me about invalid escape characters. How do I tell the VS test server to look for the XML file in the same directory that the .aspx page is loading from?

Try using

string sPath = Server.MapPath("virtual path");

to get the actual path to a given page/xml file.
