DLL's in project. I would like to get them into source safe.5/30/2007 9:38:17 PM

0/0

I am working on a C#/ASP.net project. In my project there is a gray colored folder named "references" that references several dll's. I don't think these dll's are checked into source safe for the project though, because I can not find them anywhere in source safe. I would like to get them checked into source safe, but I am embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to do this? Can someone help me out.

Also, can someone tell me why the "references" folder for the project is colored gray. Unlike the other folders which are a yellow color?

Anyway, I would appreciate some help with this?

If it is grayed it is because it is not included in the project. Right click the file and then click on "Include in project". Now it will be included in VSS.

Hi,

The referenced DLLs are not added to source control because they are not a part of the project.

Generally, we build DLLs for each project and put them together for executing. If you really need to add the DLL with the project, you have to add it to the project, so that it go with the whole project and can be checked into the source control.

HTH. If this does not answer your question, please feel free to mark the post as Not Answered and reply. Thank you!
