Creating ASP .NET Web Service3/10/2006 12:21:42 PM

All,

I am trying to create an ASP .NET Web Service project utilizing MS Visual Studio 2005 as we used to do in MS Visual Studio 2003, but can't seem to see that option despite having installed everything (full installation). I also had installed IIS before hand so ASP .NET should have been "found" and enabled during the MS Visual Studio installation.

I am trying to do it the same old way or find how to do it in Visual Studio 2005 and can't find it. I am also trying to code the web service in VB.

If you have any information in this regard, please send me an email at [email protected]

Thanks !

Angelo

Hi,

File --> New -> Web Site

In the opening window you can pick for example ASP.NET Web Service or ASP.NET Web Site (basically it doesn't matter that much since when you have the web site up and running you can just add web service asmx's there)

The default model in VS2005 is not so tightly project oriented so basically you just have a web site where you can add the things you need. In case you really look for "safe and secure" VS2003 way of working (e.g a project etc), you'd look for web application project add-on http://webproject.scottgu.com
