Can not open Web Form in Design view in Visual Studio 20056/4/2007 6:53:15 PM

Hi,

Till now, everything was working fine.

Now , i am not able to open the web forms in Design view.

Please help.

Does it give you an error message, and if so, what does the error say?

This often happens if you have a syntax error in your HTML, or a server tag that doesn't end, or something like that... the error message can help.

It does not give any error message.

It is happening in all the pages.

Viewing it in Source View" is not a proble.

When I try to switch from "Source View" to "Design View", It simply does not show anything.It does not work at all.

Reloading of any package wil help ? Not sure which one.

Hi Vijay,

What about right click the aspx file in the Solution Explorer and select ?View Designer??

In addition, have your tried to run devenv /resetsettings or devenv /setup in Visual Studio 2005 Command Prompt? I hope the above information is helpful to you.

Hi,

I am also facing same problem,which Vijay is facing...
Suddenly that problem started...I am also not able to view designer/Desing view in ASP.net
It does not give any error message...

could you please help me...
Any help will be appreciated

I think you both are using pirated versions of Visual Studio. Once I read that in one magazine.

Do you get any XHTML error in source view? if yes then turn off XHTML validation or correct your html as XHTML.

This will solve your problem 

 

  1. Copy the V2.0.50727 of gdiplus.dll to C:\Program Files\Visual Studio 8\Common7\Packages.  Search you C drive to find this version of gdiplus.dll.  You may find it in some other location.
  2. Run devenv /ResetSkipPkgs from command line (from the Program Files\VS\Common7\IDE folder)
