Can I run ASP apps on windows XP Home edition with VS2005?4/4/2007 2:56:11 PM

I had heard that in vs2005 that I could run ASP apps on my XP home OS. Is this true or do I still need IIS?

I'm assuming you mean ASP.Net and not ASP (different things), but yes you can. VS2005 has a built in file based webserver option when building a site.

Hi,

If you are you using VS2005 for application then you can run the application to preview your files, but when you deploy your website then you should have IIS in your system. In Home Edition by default you will not have IIS but you can find the third party software to install IIS.
