Does anybody else get this (below) error when they try to logout of the .TEXT admin interface?

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Scott, great job on the code. Sorry to post a problem here, I get bothered sometimes when I see how many problems are posted without a "thanks" or "good job" thrown in there!

We do appreciate all of the work you've put into this. It rocks!

Its a known issue. A fix is posted here: http://scottwater.com/code/Dottext.Web.Admin.zip

Just drop this .dll in your bin and you should be good.

Scott, thanks for posting the fix for this. I just set this up on my site last night and I got this error. Thanks for putting your time into this project, it is awesome!

I replaced the file and I am not getting the error anymore. But it doesn't actually log me out. I got back to the main menu, the Admin link is displayed, and I can go right back in to admin again.

I had this error too. You have access to the source? Do a search for for "protected void Logout(object sender, System.EventArgs e)". It probably looked something like this:

HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Clear();
HttpContext.Current.Session.Abandon();
System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
Context.Response.Redirect(Config.CurrentBlog().FullyQualifiedUrl);

I read somewhere that .Text doesn't use Session. The second line was causing problems so the third line wasn't executing.

If you have the source, just try/catch EACH line. Don't put all 4 lines in one try catch because you still want the third line to execute.
