Inline Code and Portal Performance11/24/2003 11:17:11 AM

0/0

Just pondering ....

While I understand the benefits of a code behind approach one point I am not too sure on is the issue of performance.

Is there any difference in performance between inline code and code behind? My understanding is that caching is the key to this - that inline code becomes compiled and cached on the server .... so in theory there is no difference.

I ask as I now have a mixed portal of inline and code behind and I really cannot find the time to convert all my inline code .... performance issues are really the only real reason I would be worried about.

Any thoughts ...

Hi Laura,

Check out The Codebehind vs. Inline Code ASP.NET Debate.

I have sites that use inline code as well as sites that use code-behind. I have not noticed a performance difference.
