Error Uploading to Remote Server - URI Format Not Supported11/26/2003 12:48:21 PM

I've spent two days on this already and can't seem to find what is wrong.
One of the tabs on my portal allows a user to upload a file from their local machine to the remote server. When I test it on the localhost under IIS, it works fine, however when i try to run it on the remote server hosted by my ISP, I am getting the error "URI formats not supported". I can't find information on this and how to fix.

When you are choosing the file to upload, what are you using for the file path? You must use a drive letter followed by the path (c:\temp\MyDoc.doc), not a UNC (\\computer1\tempshare\MyDoc.doc) or URL (http://localhost/temp/MyDoc.doc).

When I am choosing the file to upload, I simply browse my harddrive and select a file. I then strip off just the filename and concatenate it to the UNC of the remote server (e.g. \data\sample.jpg). When I click to do the upload i get the message: (URI formats are not supported.)

Does your form tag look like this, "<form enctype="multipart/form-data" runat="server">"? I was having issues when the enctype was not added.

I did have that, however, I did find out what my problem was. I needed to use a virtual drive (e.g. D:\inetpub\wwwroot\[application-name]\)
When i used it in this format instead of URI (e.g. /xxx/xxx.htm) it worked. I'm not sure why it didn't accept a URI format and if it was ASP.Net related.
