ASPkey submenu option2/2/2005 6:21:51 PM

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the demo ASPkey_SubMenus.dll is compiled with .NET Framework 1.1 and VisualStudio 2003 or with .NET Framework 1.0 and VisualStudio 2002. ?

The help file with the demo version does not mention how to install using VS 2002. How do you do it. I assume you add references to the dlls and then just replace the DesktopPortalBanner.ascx file and add stylesheet items. Any help appreciated. I'm getting the following error. Is this because I'm using VS 2002 to compile the starter portal project?

Hi,

I don't have an answer to your poblem...I'm just curious...I haven't heard heard of this before. Is this a new mod that will alow you to add submenus to the tabs in the portal?

I was looking to implement sub menus using the existing admin function for adding tabs and I saw a post about the www.aspkey.net product. You have to install the skmmenu menu (www.skmmenu.com) first. You then add the aspkey extension which allows you to use the admin function as far as I understand. I've tried and failed so far getting the error I said. If install the skmmenu menu, the dll they supply is compiled with VS2003. If your using VS2002 you have to download the source code and rebuilt a new dll first and then add it to your project. I was wondering if the aspkey dll was then same. You have to pay for the source code. I just wanted to get it to work before parting with any cash. If anyone has got it to work with VS2002 or just got it to work with VS2003 I would like to know what they did. Any ideas??? Thanks

Hi,

i am not using VBVS, i am only using the VBSDK, but my aspkey menu doesnt require any compilation.

I just dumped it into the BIN folder (Which contains the DLL file for the portal itself), and then replace the bannermodule with the aspkey version, and copy the css into the main css...and start naming tabs with that fashino, and then it worked.....it works on the first try....

I've got it to work now. I had to buy the code (~£8) and essentially re-write the code to work with VS based on what ASPkey had done. It will not just plug in as I had hoped. But... it looks fine now and is configurable from the admin module. Cheers guys

How much re-write did you have to do?  What changes did you make?
