Photos displayed as links3/5/2007 7:54:26 PM

Hi all,

I am experimenting with the Personal Web Site Starter Kit.  On my development server everything works OK, but on my "production server" photos are displayed as links.

So e.g. a text Photo Number 9 in red in the "Photo of the Day" part of the default.aspx page, in stead of the picture itself. I have similar errors on other pages that have to display the pictures.

Does anyone have a clue which setting is suspect with this error.

Thanks

Fred

The Control displaying the info. is either a linkbutton or something.Use the Image control (<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server") ... instead

Also, make sure that you get the correct info.(ImageUrl)  for the Image Control and nothing else(like Photo Number 9 -text info.).So modify the code behind to pull appropriate info for the Image url.

Hope this helps!

I use the standard Personal Web Site Starter Kit. Originally the pictures were displayed OK. When I dig into the code I hit to code in the Handler.ashx file of this project. Is there any way that this code starts to display texts like "like Photo Number 9" in stead of the picture itself ?

I am not aware that I changed something in this code , so it must have something to do with the setting of some parameter that controls the way that the data is displayed.

It appears that I have been messing up access rules in the security manager. It took me some time to give the various users access to the photos again.

Here could be hosting security setting. I had such problem, and asked hosting support, so they changed the setting.

On http://www.webhost4life.com, it's http://pws.minskshop.org (I am workning with it now.) Jeremy http://www.jeremywadsworth.com likes this hosting also. They have this kit also as possible asp.net pre-installed kit. But I uploaded it myself.
