I almost miss the days of ColdFusion now, where you could take information in a database and quickly move it into an HTML form.

Only problem I can see is where people started to embed business rules into the CFM pages too, producing a 50,000 line CFM file... [hey... i'm to blame too! LOL]

Maybe we'll see a ColdFusion.NET ? OOOOh.... that's an interesting twist, eh?

I'm actually working on something like that.
I have lexer/parser almost done, and some simple infrastructure ready.
It will not support 100% of cold fusion and will not be backwards compatible, but will be close.
when using <cfscript> tags, you write C# code inside, instead of cfscript.
It's far from finished, but once I have more done, I will make it open source.

You don't need to put business rules in a Coldfusion page - that's what Coldfusion Components are? Classes, exactly like ASP.NET.

As someone who uses both .Net and MX - they are surprisingly similar, mainly because MX is a J2EE abstraction layer.

Many ColdFusion developers have not reliazed the power of CF component.
