Convert FrontPage to VS 2005 web project5/24/2007 8:53:51 PM

Hi,

I have several web sites I have built using FrontPage 2003 and would like to convert them to ASP.NET 3.0 using Visual Studio 2005.

I am blue in the face (opps keys) searching for a method to accomplish this task.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks

Phillip J.

There's no easy way to "convert" your sites (as in submitting them to some kind of automated process).  You will have to "migrate" them.  In other words, re-write them.  There are one or two "converters" out there, but frankly, they are rubbish.  And they would likely properly choke on the yukky stuff that FrontPage <Ick!> spews out.

Hi and thanks,

I was afraid that would be the answer...

One would think that with the success of FrontPage and Microsofts abilities that they would give us a tool to upgrade all our sites from FP to VS or even Expressions then VS if that is the development path they want us to take.

I know the Web BOTS are a load of grunge but they do work, and MS has had them around for years and should be able to create some sort of tool so we can migrate sites to VS.

Thanks for your help.
Phill
