I have created a website using dotnet 2005 and C#. I used master page. In my master page, I have Nav Studio menu. I also have Ajax scriptmanager on my master page. I have used update panel on few of my pages. I am using AppTheme folder in which i have theme for gridview and CSS. To apply this theme i have written in web.config as <Page theme="MyTheme">. This website works fine on localhost but gives error when i upload this website on server.

Error : Using theme css file requires header control on page(<head runat = "server">)

Who is your hosting through? I have some sites hosted through GoDaddy and have noticed similar problems.

I have runat="server" in my head tag. But I am removing followingline from my master page because it does not support my navstudio menu.

Don't do that. The doctype is needed so that the client's browser will know how to render the document.
