Thought I was doing this correctly!12/24/2006 6:10:47 PM

I have a master page that is made up of three tables.

  1. The first table contains 1 row and 1 column. It's contents is an image representing the name of the application and a logo
  2. The second table contains 1 Row and 2 Columns. The first contains a menu of options. The second contains a ContentPlaceHolder.
  3. The third and final table is a footer. It contains 1 row and 2 columns. Each cell contains an image.

If the page I design is a short page, then it renders correctly. If however, the page is a long page (by that, I mean vertically) then the 3rd table (i.e. what I call the footer) does not get moved down. I am placing a bunch of line break tags in the ContentPlaceHolder of the web page I design.

I'm either missing something or I haven't grasped the concept correctly. Any help would be tremendously appreciated. Maybe the way I'm designing a Header and Footer is not the way to do it. I just don't know.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Val,

Try after placing each table in <div> tag, that should work.

<

div id="footer">

<table id=1 >

 .....

</

table>

</div>

Thanks for the Reply. I tried that and still have no luck. Just to be sure I understand, my code is as follows:

1    </div>
2        <div id="footer">
3            <table id="1" style="z-index: 105; left: 15px; width: 907px; top: 691px">
4                <tr>
5                    <td colspan="2" style="width: 283px; height: 22px;">
6                    <asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" Style="z-index: 100; left: 17px;
7                               top: 627px" ImageUrl="~/Images/DCTLogo-Bottom.gif" Width="367px" />
8                    </td>
9                </tr>
10           </table>
11       </div>

Not certain if this makes a difference or not however the two tables (Header and Detail) are positioned using Absolute values.
Thanks again.

Actually,

I am doing this correctly. It appears that it's the control that I'm using inside the container that is causing this. I'm using a ComponentOne webgrid control. As the contents grow, it does not appear to be pushing the rest of the text down. I tried putting a bunch of <br> tags and sure enough my "footer" gets pushed down. Either this is a question for ComponentOne or I'm not doing something right.
