SqlSiteMapProvider Works! - Eventually2/11/2006 3:03:52 PM

0/0

With the help of some very smart people in this forum and some code from an article by Jeff Prosise in the February issue of MSDN mag I now have a working Dynamic SiteMap.  I even have a demonstration of it on my web site .  But the problem is when people try to use the demo they often don't see the change take place as immediately.  If the change is not immediate it seems to take hours before the menu is updated.  That's OK for my site because when a menu item changes it's usually not necessary that visitors see the change right away.  But when your trying to demonstrate something it is very important.  When a visitor uses the demo but the change doesn't take place immediately they will think that it doesn't work.  I could do a better job of explainng it in the article but it would be far better if I could figure out a way to force the change to take place more quickly.

I understand that there might be a lag in the notification process but I thought it was only supposed to be about 2 minutes.  My questiion is whether there is anything I can do to improve the notification process so that the menus are more consistently refreshed within a few minutes.
