menu control slow response8/10/2007 1:22:46 PM

I have observed that the menu control response(displaying of submenu) is slow when the page contains a lot of other controls. Our menu control is on a master page which has other controls like a tree view,calendar control etc.  When I remove other controls from the page the menu opens up faster. Is this a known issue or I am doing something wrong?

 The Menu Control unfortunately is known to run slow. Look how costly it is in bandwidth if you had a million users a day! View source and look at those 3 pages of code it puts out. This is why I created my own Menu Control. You are better off to write your own script on htis one. If you dont need the menu items to be dynamically loaded than use a dhtml menu.  Rememeber, .net controls were invented for quick web solutions not the best.
