MasterPages and VS 2008 issue1/28/2008 2:35:39 PM

Has anyone else experienced this annoying issue, I upgraded my site from VS2005 to VS2008. I have been using MasterPages in VS2005 with no issues. Now I have created a new layout for our site still using MasterPages, but for some reason everytime I open a file to work on I get an error saying: The page contains markup that is not valid when attached to a Master Page. Correct the problem in Code view.

This only happens on the new MasterPage I created. The only way to fix this is to open the page in code view add a single space and then switch to design view and click the Synch views bar that appears at the top of the page. I have to do this on every single page that needs to be edited in design view. When opening a page with the old MasterPage it opens no problem in design view. Any ideas?

I'm having exactly the same issue.

Annoying and easily fixed (new MS moto!?) but I still want to get it corrected. Let me know if you figure it out.

 Yep that was the answer, well sort of.  To make it just a bit clearer what you need to do follow these steps.

Click Tools, Select Customize, Click on the Commands Tab and on the left window pane scroll to the bottom and Select View, wait a few seconds for the items to load in the right window pane, scroll down 3/4 of the window and look for Refresh. Drag the icon from the right window pane and drop it next to your icons at the top.

 A bug has been submitted for this issue, hopefully it will be fixed soon. This is a better solution than having to open the page in Split view and add a single space, now I can just click the refresh button and presto, there is my page!

I agree...not really a fix...just another of MS "creative band-aids".
