MasterPage messes up my CSS6/29/2007 1:06:39 PM

0/0

Hi, I have a nice template all done up in CSS and XHTML. I've run it through validation and everything is compliant with standards. However as soon as I stick it in a masterpage, some of the padding and margins are off where I show my content. I don't understand because the template remains 100% the same only that I have a content place holder. Do I have to set the CSS for the place holder? I was going to do that but in the source, the content thats generated doesnt get wraped in a div.

First off, you can't apply a style to a ContentPlaceHolder control itself. The ContentPlaceHolder can be placed inside a styled control should as a Div or the MasterPage itself can have a StyleSheet associated with it. If this is the case, then the contents within your child pages will be affected.

Thanks, Ed

Well yeah, thats what I though. I have div called content with all the formating I need and when I have regular text in in, my padding and margins are fine. However, if I put that same content in a contentplaceholder on a seperate page, my padding is all messed up. The fonts and everything else are fine. I looked a the compiled source and they are identical in both cases. I really dont get it.
